RR vs DC: Rajasthan Royals are taking on Delhi Capitals in their group-stage encounter of the Indian Premier League. The home team is on top against the Capitals as they posted 199 runs on the board in their first innings. In reply, RR bowlers bowled some excellent lines and lengths to scalp a few early wickets. It all started when pacer Trent Boult scalped the big wicket of Prithvi Shaw as the skipper Sanju Samson took a blinder to get rid off the batter. Coming to the dismissal, Shaw’s feet went nowhere as he aimed at an expansive drive and got a thick edge that flew near the slip cordon. Samson had to throw himself to his right as managed to hold on even as he tumbled across. The catch was absolutely sensational as all the fielders came near Samson to pat his back.
Samson failed to get going with the bat as he was out for none after facing four balls. However, RR openers were absolutely excellent with the bat as they posted fifties. Buttler played an exciting knock of 79 runs as he was simply excellent with the bat. It must be noted that there were clouds over Buttler’s participation in the clash against the Capitals. However, the English batter brought out his best with the bat.
“Cut my finger in the last game but a few stitches and good to play. (On Orange Cap) Nice to wear, but just glad to get a decent start to the season. This is a good wicket, so we need to bowl well to defend this. The powerplay was fantastic, but the bounce got lower as the ball got older and we lost some momentum in the middle-overs by losing a couple of wickets, hope Ashwin and Chahal could do the same for us,” Buttler said at the mid-innings break.
