GT Playing XI vs CSK: The reigning champion Gujarat Titans facse the MS Dhoni-led CSK in the opening match of the Indian Premier League 2023 (IPL 2023). Ahead of the match, we look at the strongest playing XI of the Hardik Pandya-led side. Gujarat will play Chennai in the first game of the IPL 16 on Friday, and the team will be aiming to pick up where they left off the previous year. Along with the outstanding batting performances of David Miller and Rahul Tewatia, Mohammed Shami and Rashid Khan’s deadly bowling, and Hardik Pandya’s outstanding leadership, Gujarat became a force to be reckoned with as they paved the path for an outstanding title victory in their debut season.
Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Jason Roy, and Lockie Ferguson, all from Afghanistan, were released while Gujarat kept the majority of their team for the IPL 2023. But, they acquired the big fish in Kane Williamson, the former SRH skipper.

Shubman Gill and Wriddhiman Saha are most likely to start for Gujarat’s strongest playing 11, which also includes Kane Williamson, Hardik Pandya, and Rahul Tewatia.
David Miller will be absent from the opening game, as he is occupied with South Africa vs Netherlands ODI series. For the first game, Matthew Wade can replace Miller. In the meanwhile, Mohammed Shami, Alzarri Joseph, Rashid Khan, and either Shivam Mavi or Sai Kishore will bowl for Gujarat.
Not to forget there is a rule for Impact player now and it will all depend on pitch conditions on the day, as to which batter/bowler/all-rounder will Hardik Pandya trust. As of now, the choice of Impact player is clearly between Shivam Mavi and R Sai Kishore. If one plays in the playing XI, the other will be a sure choice to be an impact player.
