IPL 2023 LIVE Broadcast: Star Sports continue its dominance with the broadcast giants recording a massive viewership on course of the IPL. In just three days, Star Sports have clocked over a total of 8.7 billion minutes of consumption. The numbers are encouraging especially given Star lost the streaming rights to Viacom18. The Reliance-backed brand is streaming IPL for free on JioCinema, but Star has maintained its stranglehold over the audience. Further, the JioCinema crash on Day 1 of IPL 2023, aided their rise in TV ratings.

Star upped its game this season with various campaigns promoting the upcoming IPL season. While many suspected the broadcast giants to crumble under JioCinema pressure, Disney Star held its ground and the results are there to see after the IPL opening weekend.

With its fan-centric approach, the broadcasters are providing match feed in nine different languages across the country.  A decorated ‘Star Cast’ comprising former Cricketers and seasoned broadcasters across languages is presenting Tata IPL 2023. They are joined by Star Sports’ IPL sutradhaar – Ranveer Singh – and legendary Telugu actor Nandamuri Balakrishna.

While MS Dhoni and Suryakumar Yadav were snapped up by Viacom18, Star set the IPL promotions ablaze with promos featuring Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Hardik Pandya and Ravindra Jadeja.

Over 200 million viewers watched the build-up programming for TATA IPL 2023 even before the tournament began on Friday, which is a testament to Star Sports’ commitment to widening the coverage of the tournament beyond the live broadcast.
