About facing Bayern Munich and how much they want to win the Champions League, Pep Guardiola said during the pre-match press conference, “A lot. We want to try against an elite club like Bayern Munich. You have to deserve it, we try to do the first tomorrow.”
He added, “They are so creative, very good attacking players. We have to score goals, it is a good test for us. Like I said before, when we start a game we have to perform our best.”

This could become a problem for them considering Haaland’s form this season as he is already leading the top scorers’ list with 30 goals in Premier League.
Thomas Tuchel was asked about how he will handle Erling Haaland during the pre-match press conference. He said, “What matters is that we organised the defence very well and the midfield. Haaland is incredible but without good crossses or passes from Kevin De Bruyne it will be harder for him. I think our entire team needs to be in top shape and form to stop someone like Haaland.”

- Man City boss Guardiola has only good news for him as he will have a nearly full squad available for their match against Bayern on Tuesday. The only player absent from the English side will be Phil Foden who is still recovering from his appendix removal procedure.
- Guardiola hasn’t made any huge changes to his lineup in the past few weeks and it’s still expected that he will almost keep the same team that he lined up against Southampton. However, Bernardo Silva could come in for Riyad Mahrez as he played for the entirety of the round of 16 matches.
- He will probably keep the same backline with no Aymeric Laporte. He has also previously expressed how much John Stones has fit in his system, so he will be expected in the midfield instead of Kalvin Phillips.

- Bayern will have to do without their natural centre forward, Eric-Maxim Choupo-Moting is yet to recover from his knee issue. Coach Tuchel could use Serge Gnabry in a more central position or choose Thomas Muller who has some experience in the position.
- Leon Goretzka was rested during their match against Freiburg, so he could be called up for this match. Whereas, Jamal Musiala could be utilized in a more forward position as Muller takes a more central position.
- Sadio Mane has been struggling, so he could be replaced by Kingsley Coman, who scored the winning goal in their Champions League round of 16 away match against PSG.
