Monte Carlo Masters LIVE: Sinner vs Schwartzman LIVE – Jannik Sinner and Diego Schawartzman are in action in the second round. Sinner has dominated Schwartzman and won the first set 6-0. Alexander Zverev has advanced to the third round at the Monte Carlo Masters 2023. He defeated Roberto Bautista Agut 6-4, 6-4 in the second round. Fourth seed Casper Ruud has also advanced to the third round. He clinched a 7-5, 7-6 win against Botic van de Zandschulp. Third seed Daniil Medvedev will headline Day 4 action at the Monte Carlo Masters 2023. He will be facing Lorenzo Sonego in the second round on Wednesday, 12th April 2023. Casper Ruud vs Botic van de Zandschulp
Casper Ruud enters the Monte Carlo Masters after winning the Estoril Open title last week. With the victory at Estoril Open, which was his first title of the season, he has made a great comeback to the tour. He had an underwhelming start to the season on hard courts. Ruud failed to go past the second round in any of the tournament before the Estoril Open. He will now look to continue his form as he takes on Botic van de Zandschulp in the upcoming contest.
Zandschulp began his campaign with a come-from-behind 3-6, 7-6, 6-1 win against Marton Fucsovics. It was the unseeded Dutch’s first victory of his career at the ATP Masters 1000 tournaments. He now faces a big test against in-form Ruud, who is the fourth seed in the tournament.
Alexander Zverev vs Roberto Bautista Agut
Alexander Zverev will be facing Roberto Bautista Agut for a spot in the second round of the tournament. Zverev, who is the 13th seed began his campaign in the first round with a 3-6, 6-2, 6-4 win against Alexander Bublik. Zverev haven’t had desired success in the season so far. He hasn’t looked at his best following his French Open injury last year which made him sit out of action for more than six months. The German is set to face a tricky challenge against Agut.
Roberto Bautista Agut began his campaign at Monte Carlo with a hard-fought three-set win against Filip Krajinovic. It was his first victory since the Qatar Open in February. Agut will no face Zverev which is yet again expected to a be a very competitive contest.
Daniil Medvedev vs Lorenzo Sonego
Third seed Daniil Medvedev is in red-hot form in the tour. He has so far reached five consecutive finals in the season and has won four titles. He is aiming to continue the dream run on clay courts as well. The third seed is all set to begin his campaign in the second round. He will be facing Lorenzo Sonego.
Lorenzo Sonego meanwhile defeated Ugo Humbert with a come-from-behind 3-6, 7-5, 7-5 victory in the first round. With the win, he has made his third successive second round appearance at Monte Carlo Masters. However he hasn’t reached the third round since 2019. It looks like he will have to wait longer for it as Medvedev is the favourite against him in the upcoming contest.
Taylor Fritz vs Stan Wawrinka
Taylor Fritz and Stan Wawrinka have set up a blockbuster second round contest at the Monte Carlo Masters. Fritz is the eighth seed. He has received a bye from the first round and is all set to begin his campaign in the tournament. Fritz last played at the Miami Open, where he reached the quarterfinal.
Stan Wawrinka began his campaign at Monte Carlo with a 5-7, 6-3, 6-4 win against Tallon Griekspoor. The 38-year old missed the Miami Open in order to get ready for the clay court tournament and now hopes to extend his form in the Masters 1000 event.
