IPL 2023 Opening Ceremony LIVE: D-Day is here. Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma was absent during the IPL captains’ shoot in Ahmedabad on Thursday. All 9 captains except Rohit assembled at the Narendra Modi Stadium to pose with the trophy. In Aiden Markram’s absence, Bhuvneshwar Kumar attended the captains’ meet. While there is still uncertainty over MS Dhoni availability for opener vs Gujarat Titans. Rashmika Mandanna, Tamannah Bhatia, Arijit Singh and others from Bollywood will perform at the IPL 2023 opening ceremony.

The Indian Premier League’s 16th season is about to begin. Arijit Singh, a well-known Bollywood musician, will play during the IPL 2023 Opening Ceremony, making him one of the event’s main draws. Rashmika Mandanna and actress Tamannah Bhatia have also declared their participation in the IPL 2023 opening ceremony. Gujarat Titans and Chennai Super Kings will square off following the opening ceremony.

India and Mumbai Indians’ captain Rohit Sharma was forced to miss the  IPL captains’ meeting and photoshoot in Ahmedabad. As per the Times of India, Rohit was sick and decided against travelling. While sick, Rohit is expected to be available for Mumbai Indians’ opener against Royal Challengers Bangalore on April 2.

“He was unwell and thus could not travel to Ahmedabad for the pre-IPL captains’ meeting and photoshoot. He is, however, likely to be available for MI’s opening game in IPL-2023 against Royal Challengers Bangalore on April 2,” a reliable source told TOI.

Rohit addressed MI’s pre-tournament media interaction on Wednesday in Mumbai.  On the eve of the opening match of the 2023 season of the IPL, all the franchise captains gathered at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium and held a special photo shoot with the trophy. However, Rohit’s absence caught the attention of fans.

All the other nine teams were represented in the photoshoot with MS Dhoni (Chennai Super Kings), Hardik Pandya (Gujarat Titans), Shikhar Dhawan (Punjab Kings), Nitish Rana (Kolkata Knight Riders), KL Rahul (Lucknow Super Giants), Bhuvneshwar Kumar (Sunrisers Hyderabad), Faf Du Plessis (Royal Challengers Bangalore) and David Warner (Delhi Capitals) being in the frame.
