He lost in the final two weeks back at the Indian Wells and now aims to lift his fourth title this season.   • With his appearance in the final at Miami Open, Daniil Medvedev has now reached the title round at all six hard-court ATP Masters 1000 events.
  • Ever since his third round exit at the Australian Open earlier this year, Medvedev has been in red-hot form in the ATP Tour.
  • He won 24 of his 25 matches so far in the tour with his only loss coming at the Indian Wells Masters final.
  • He has won titles at the ATP Rotterdam, Qatar Open and Dubai Tennis Championships and now aims to lift the Miami Open for the first time in his career.
  • He began his campaign at Miami with a 6-1, 6-2 win against Roberto Carballes Baena in the second round.
  • The Russian received a walkover from Alex Molcan in the third round. He clinched a 6-4, 6-2 win against Quentin Halys in the fourth round and also defeated Christopher Eubanks in straight sets in the quarterfinal.
  • He dropped a game for the first time in the tournamnent in the semifinal against Karen Khachanov. He however clinched a 7-6, 3-6, 6-3 win to enter the final.

  • Jannik Sinner meanwhile avenged his loss against Carlos Alcaraz at the Indian Wells Masters two weeks back and clinched a come-from-behind 6-7, 6-4, 6-2 win to enter the final.
  • With the win, Sinner became only the second man in the tour this year to defeat Carlos Alcaraz.
  • Sinner began the tournament with a straight set win against Laslo Djere in the second round. He then defeated 21st seed Grigor Dimitrov 6-3, 6-4 to advance to the third round.
  • In the fourth round he faced sixth seed Andrey Rublev. Against the Russian, Sinner hardly broke a sweat as he clinched a 6-2, 6-4 win.
  • He continued his form in the quarterfinal and defeated Emil Ruusuvuori 6-3, 6-1 to set up clash against Carlos Alcaraz.
  • The 10th seeded Italian will now face a different challenge against Daniil Medvedev in the big final.

Medvedev vs Sinner Head-to-Head: Jannik Sinner is yet to win a single contest against Daniil Medvedev in the ATP Tour so far. Both the players have met five times in the past. Their most recent meeting came in the final at ATP Rotterdam this year. Medvedev sealed a 5-7, 6-2, 6-2 victory. The Russian has the upper hand in the upcoming contest. However having defeated Alcaraz, one can expect a similar fight against the in-form Sinner.
