Orleans Masters LIVE: Rajawat vs Jin LIVE – After defeating top seed Kenta Nishimoto, Priyanshu Rajawat looks to continue his run in the Orleans Masters. He will be facing Chinese Taipei’s Chi Yu Jen in the quarterfinals on Friday, 7th April 2023. Men’s Doubles pair MR Arjun and Dhruv Kapila will also be in action for a spot in the semifinal of the tournament. They will face second seed Leo Carnando and Daniel Marthin. Priyanshu Rajawat vs Chi Yu Jen
Priyanshu Rajawat clinched one of his biggest victories of his career on Thursday by defeating Kenta Nishimoto in the second round. He will face Chinese Taipei’s Chi Yu Jen in the quarterfinals.
Rajawat, ranked 58th in the world will be in action in his first quarterfinal in the tour this year. He started the tournament on a dominating fashion with a 21-18, 21-13 win against Kiran George in the firts round. He bettered the performance with a 21-8, 21-16 victory against a much higher-ranked opponent in Nishimoto.
Chi Yu Jen is also yet to drop a game in the tournament. He faced victories against Rasmus Gemke and Mithun Manjunath to enter the final. Like Rajawat, this is also his first quarterfinal appearance in the BWF Tour this year.
MR Arjun/Dhruv Kapila vs Leo Carnando/Daniel Marthin
MR Arjun and Dhruv Kapila have made it to their first quarterfinal in the tour this year. They are the only seeded Indians remaining in the tournament. They began the tournament with a straight set win against Mendrek-Kral pair. The Indian duo then clinched a 21-15, 17-21, 21-16 victory against Japan’s Mitsuhashi and Okamura to make their way into the quarterfinal.
They will face Indonesia’s second seeded Leo Carnando and Daniel Marthin. They started the season by winning the titles at Indonesia Masters and Thailand Masters. They are now aiming to win their third title of the season. At the Orleans Masters, they defeated Malaysia’s Boon-Wong pair. In the second round, they clinched a 27-21, 21-15 victory against Denmark’s Molhede-Bay.
